How did you get engaged? --Robby proposed on Christmas night at a bar called Bottletree back home (Birmingham, AL). It’s an awesome eclectic music venue and cafe–the best you can do by far in Birmingham. We popped some Andre to celebrate.

What is the official name for the bridesmaid color – I believe J Crew named the bridesmaids’ dresses Dusty Shale. J Crew has such a way with words, you know. I have no idea how that reflects the color of the dress. The dresses were neither dusty nor shale looking. I suppose it is supposed to sound romantic. To me, the color looked more like a muted mint green.



How did you two meet?–Unfortunately we don’t have some cutesy story about how we met. We went to the same high school and college. We never formally met, we’ve more or less been aware of each other throughout the years. I’ve known Robby’s brother for a long time, which is how I knew of Robby. Around my junior year of college, I started hanging out more around them on weekends and I guess it led to Robby asking me on a date. We’ve been together ever since.

Lindsey your creativity for this wedding blew me away. What was one of your favorite diy wedding projects?–
Oh thank you! My favorite project was creating the table numbers. I was inspired by a post from Project Wedding about DIY framed table numbers. Audubon actually had framed table numbers, but I wanted to make my own that reflected my own personal style. I went to the thrift store and bought various frames and basically stapled fabrics samples that I bought from craft stores to the backs of them. I cut out paper and fabric hearts and glued them on. I then painted the letters/numbers and hot glued them on. I thought my mom was going to have a breakdown at Michael’s when I approached a bin of like 500 wooden, unpainted letters all meshed together and calmly pulled out each letter for the numbers. Of course, this was like two days before the wedding. It was fun making each table number different. There were only ten so it wasn’t very difficult to use different fabrics and color combinations that still managed to reflect the overall style of the wedding.

What song did you dance to for your first dance? –“Hysteric” by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Why are you two so perfect together? — We are comfortable around very few people, but around each other, we can be be ourselves completely.


One word to describe the married life? — cozy
If your love was a book what would the title be? Mixed Tapes, Margaritas, Marriage.

Denise – what was it like walking down the aisle?
I was strangely calm. It’s all somewhat of a blur now, but I remember just being in the moment not thinking “this is it” or “I hope I don’t trip,” but just calm and happy.

Mack- what were you thinking up on the alter?
I knew we would get married after a month of dating; three and a half years later it was finally happening.

if you two could re-live one moment from the wedding day…….
Mack: I could watch Denise come down the aisle over and over again
Denise: There isn’t a single moment I wouldn’t relive. I’d feel silly saying it was “magical” so I’m going to go back to my original one-word answer: from beginning to end it was absolutely, positively, simply FUN.

where are you on your honeymoon?
We are going to Tulum, Mexico to soak up some sun (its apparently not hot enough in new orleans), good food, mexican culture, and relaxation time. No computers or blackberry- yay!

One word to describe the married life?
Relaxing

so i love this photo session… Brittany and Sean were so much fun to hang with! When we ended in Jackson Square the sun was just perfect. I’m filled with photo love over the last set we did in front of the cathedral through the flowers…. it was a photo dream come true. this shoot was also amazing b/c this couple let us go in their house and use their balcony. people in new orleans are so nice sometimes here we go! meet Sean and Brittany.

Brittany – one word to describe Sean – Crazy, but in a good way of course! You never know what he is going to do next.

How did you two meet? I knew Sean’s cousin, Scott, for about a year or two before Sean started hanging out with our group of friends and over the years he became one of my closet guy friends. One summer afternoon at a Zephyr’s game, Scott and his girlfriend at the time convinced Sean to make a move and tell me he liked me. Later that night we all headed to the bowling alley, Sean tricked me into going by the lockers, kissed me and the rest is history. Here we are almost seven years later…


Do you have a favorite engagement photo? Sean’s is the one in front of his car of course! It is entirely too hard to pic just one but one of my favorites is the one of us sitting on the lawn with the cathedral in the background, im smiling in the camera and Sean is laughing

can you tell us how you got engaged? To make a long story short, Sean and I were hanging out on Martin Luther King day because it was his last day before he went back to school in Lafayette. We went to the mall and ran a few errands for him and then we decided to go to the park right by his neighborhood. It was so pretty outside that we just went and tossed the football around to kill some time before he would have to get on the road. He was acting so strange. We were walking back to his car and he did a very awkward combination of hugging me and getting down on one knee, it looked like he was hugging my knees haha. He then said a lot of super sweet things, none of which I remember, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him! It was incredibly perfect and to top it off, the center diamond in my ring was my Grandma’s from her wedding ring in a setting Sean picked out himself. He had gone behind my back, spoken to my Mom and my Dad, and called my Grandma in South Carolina to see if she could bring the diamond when she surprised me for my graduation just a month before


Why are you two so awesome? because we don’t complete each other…we complement each other! we definitely balance each other out.

If your love was a song……
Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat … it was our original first dance choice up until a week or two before the wedding but we decided to go with something more upbeat!

let me give you the scoop on this wedding:
This wedding was nothing short of amazing. Kelly and Uriah are from Harrisburg, PA and they came down to the French Quarter with their close friends to get married and party through the streets. Total Love Birds. so cute together. I really enjoyed being part of the craziness. We started at the Hotel Provincial and had the ceremony in the most beautiful courtyard. They cut king cake which i thought was pretty genius and danced to a 3 piece band. After running around the hotel taking some bride and groom love photographs the Second Line band led everyone through the streets till we landed in Jackson Square. The evening ended with dinner and drinks and Muriels.

I also had the opportunity to get Kamila Harris! out here to shoot this wedding with me! She’s a great wedding photographer friend from Philadelphia that loooves New Orleans so I got her to come out! I decided that Kamila and I are a dream team and should be booked together for more weddings. When you scroll down the pictures I’ll make note of why we’re the best photo friends ever.
