so i love this photo session… Brittany and Sean were so much fun to hang with! When we ended in Jackson Square the sun was just perfect. I’m filled with photo love over the last set we did in front of the cathedral through the flowers…. it was a photo dream come true. this shoot was also amazing b/c this couple let us go in their house and use their balcony. people in new orleans are so nice sometimes here we go! meet Sean and Brittany.

How did you two meet? I knew Sean’s cousin, Scott, for about a year or two before Sean started hanging out with our group of friends and over the years he became one of my closet guy friends. One summer afternoon at a Zephyr’s game, Scott and his girlfriend at the time convinced Sean to make a move and tell me he liked me. Later that night we all headed to the bowling alley, Sean tricked me into going by the lockers, kissed me and the rest is history. Here we are almost seven years later…


Do you have a favorite engagement photo? Sean’s is the one in front of his car of course! It is entirely too hard to pic just one but one of my favorites is the one of us sitting on the lawn with the cathedral in the background, im smiling in the camera and Sean is laughing

can you tell us how you got engaged? To make a long story short, Sean and I were hanging out on Martin Luther King day because it was his last day before he went back to school in Lafayette. We went to the mall and ran a few errands for him and then we decided to go to the park right by his neighborhood. It was so pretty outside that we just went and tossed the football around to kill some time before he would have to get on the road. He was acting so strange. We were walking back to his car and he did a very awkward combination of hugging me and getting down on one knee, it looked like he was hugging my knees haha. He then said a lot of super sweet things, none of which I remember, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him! It was incredibly perfect and to top it off, the center diamond in my ring was my Grandma’s from her wedding ring in a setting Sean picked out himself. He had gone behind my back, spoken to my Mom and my Dad, and called my Grandma in South Carolina to see if she could bring the diamond when she surprised me for my graduation just a month before


Why are you two so awesome? because we don’t complete each other…we complement each other! we definitely balance each other out.

If your love was a song……
Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat … it was our original first dance choice up until a week or two before the wedding but we decided to go with something more upbeat!

What is the theme or idea behind your wedding decor? We like bright bold colors, so we are having 4 colors. Red, Orange, Green and Blue. The venue has an Art Deco feel to it, so all of our fonts and extra decor is geared toward a modern Art Deco. We are going to have lots of flowers, color, and love.

Why is your wedding going to amazing? Because you will be there to capture it.

If your love was a dessert what would your love be? Creme Brulee – tough on the outside, but once you crack it …all warm and gushy.

Where were you when you got engaged? A bike ride that turned into a picnic at city park.


Why is your wedding going to be amazing? The people who will be there to celebrate with us, the cool venue, a fun live band…
What are your wedding colors? Coral and light greens

Anything delicious to eat? Mack’s most excited about the mini mufalettas and seafood gumbo
What has been the best part about planning your wedding? Realizing how special our friends and family are.

If your love was a scoop of ice cream what kind of ice cream would you want to be?
Anything with nuts. Despite our ultra-sophisticated appearances, we’re actually pretty goofy

he walked out the shots we wanted him in, into the ones we didn’t want him in…..He’d sit with his back to the camera and we’d have move around him so he’d jump up and wag his tail right into every shot.
we’d call him over and he’d roll on his back. thank you mookie. really.

How did you two meet?
No exciting story here, we met through friends at one of those wild high school parties when we were 15, and love ensued when we were 16.

tell us about how you got engaged?
Claud had been working on renovating her grandma’s house throughout 2008. On July, 15, 2008, under the presumption that we were going to dinner with our families, we stopped at Cladine’s grandma’s house because “Ryan had forgotten his wallet.” Sitting in one of the bedrooms was Mookie with a ring around his neck. We went to August and had an amazing dinner. Then, we met up with our friends and family at the La Cote Brasserie Bar. ‘Twas magical!


what’s amazing about your wedding?
The people….the inevitable drunk dancing….and our “welcome shots.”

how annoying was mookie for this shoot? please elaborate.
As proud parents, we would never throw our son under the bus in public like this. But seeing as we are family, we guess that we owe you an honest answer. Yes, Mookie got a tad camera shy and was completely uninterested in posing for pictures. In fairness to the Mook, he is a “self-trained” squirrel hunter and any opportunity in an open field is an opportunity for squirrel-hunting.

I want you to meet Greta and Jason, a cute creative couple with a touch of vintage love. We had a great time doing this shoot! we met in audubon park and set up vintage blankets, played with cameras, picture frames, trees, hearts…..

Where Did you two meet?
We met at work. I was bartending and he was the new waiter, my roommate had a crush on. We threw ice and shot rubber bands at each other. It was cute.


When and where did you get engaged. fill us in!
On the anniversary of our first kiss, seven years later. We were in a hurry, late for our reservations at our favorite restaurant. I was halfway out the door and he called my name. When I turned around he was on one knee with the ring. I asked him, “What are you doing?” I don’t even remember what I ate that night, which is a first. I was floored.

We’re actually going in a different direction. We are having a southern dessert buffet. On it, we’ll be offering pies, brownies, pralines, and lots of other little yummies. My Memaw’s pecan pie is ah-mazing! People will try to steal the whole thing!

Our wedding is going to be the best wedding ever! We are mixing our southern heritage, with Greta’s love for DIY-ing and Jason’s penchant for partying all in New Orleans only indoor replica antebellum mansion. It’s sort of a vintage eclectic wedding with lots of little DIY details. And I mean LOTS. One thing is for sure, no one has ever been or will ever be to a wedding quite like ours!
